Name: Recorder

Origins: Recorders have a history that surpasses many other instruments. There is an Iron Age example made of sheep's bone, that is housed in Leeds City Museum.

Parts: Mouthpiece, duct/window, labium, head join, middle joint, foot joint and finger holes.

Usage: Part of a Baroque ensemble, other ensembles and also as a solo instrument.

Reason for Selection: We have fond memories of learning basic recorder skills in Primary school and would like to learn more.
